- What is the currency in the Bahamas?
- The official currency is the Bahamian Dollar which is equal to the American Dollar. US currency is generally accepted everywhere.
- Credit cards may not be accepted at smaller shops and restaurants in Exuma.
- What is the weather like?

- What should I pack?
- Exuma is a casual island.
- Beach, pool and golf attire are the primary clothing.
- Evenings in the winter may be a little chilly, so you may want to bring long sleeve shirts, light sweaters or a light jacket if traveling during the winter months.
- Plenty of sunscreen is a must.
- Should I rent a car?
- Most excursion companies for tours, fishing, snorkeling and diving will pick you up at Grand Isle Villas. The shared amenities of the our Seasons are within walking or golf cart distance.
- Your concierge will help you make this decision based on your vacation plans.
- Taxi’s are plentiful and reasonably priced
- As the villas offer full kitchens, where can I shop for groceries?
- We will do that for you. All you have to do is provide your concierge with a list before you arrive and we will have your refrigerator and pantry stocked for you.
- Please understand that certain produce, meats, specialty items and brand names may not always be available. Grocery stores are replenished from the mainland three times per week and the availability of certain items is based on what is brought.
- How do I send mail from Exuma?
- The post office is located in George Town. Mailboxes, Etc. with mailing services is located at the nearby shopping plaza within Emerald Bay.
- A 50 cent stamp is required for postcards to the US, Canada and UK; a 65 cent stamp is required for letters.
- Mail delivery is made by boat so UPS and FEDEX are not available in Exuma.
- What do I need to enter the country?
- Effective January 23, 2006, the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative will require all travelers, including U.S. citizens, to and from the Americas, the Caribbean, and Bermuda to have a passport or other accepted document that establishes the bearer’s identity and nationality to enter or re-enter the United States. This is a change from prior travel requirements. The goal is to strengthen border security and facilitate entry into the United States for U.S. citizens and legitimate foreign visitors. 8. What airlines service Exuma?
The Exuma International Airport (Georgetown GGT) can be reaced by scheduled and private charter flights from Nassau (30 min.), Miami (1 hr. 30 min.), Ft. Lauderdale (2 hrs.), Charlotte, NC (2 hr. 20 min.), or Atlanta, GA (2 hrs. 26 min.). Airlines servicing Exuma International Airport are:

9. How do I plan a wedding on Exuma?

In order to have your wedding in the Bahamas, you must register for a marriage license after a 24-hour residency period. The cost is approximately $100 and the marriage license is valid for 90 days. Both parties must go together to the place of registry to apply.
